Why convert lyrics to subtitles?
LRC files carry line-by-line synced lyrics for music players — but video players don't read them. Converting to SRT lets you show lyrics over a music video, a karaoke-style lyric video, a concert recording or any project in a video editor that imports SRT. The timing you (or the lyrics service) already synced carries over exactly.
How end times are created
LRC only stores when each line starts. SRT needs an end time too, so the converter runs each line until the next one begins, and gives the final line a few seconds. Lines with multiple timestamps (repeated chorus lines) are expanded into separate cues, an [offset:] tag in the file is applied, and word-level karaoke marks from enhanced LRC are cleaned out of the text.
Fine-tuning the result
If a line should disappear earlier than the next one starts (long instrumental breaks, for instance), adjust those cues in the subtitle editor after converting. LRC has no end times — how does the SRT get them?
The converter ends each line when the following line begins, and gives the last line a five-second duration. During instrumental gaps marked with empty timestamps, no text is shown. You can adjust any cue afterwards in the subtitle editor.
Does it handle repeated chorus timestamps and karaoke LRC?
Yes. Lines with several [mm:ss.xx] timestamps are expanded into one cue per timestamp, and word-level <mm:ss.xx> marks from enhanced (karaoke) LRC files are stripped so only clean lyric text remains.
