Editing the timing
Each line has its own start and end time. You can type a full timestamp like
00:01:23,500 or just the number of seconds like 83.5. Both work. The
editor flags two common mistakes as you type, an end time that lands before its start and a line
that overlaps the one before it, so you can clean up the timing before exporting.
Adding, duplicating and removing lines
Use + line to insert a caption after any row, Duplicate to copy one, and Delete to remove it. The line numbers renumber automatically so the file stays valid. You can also start a blank subtitle from scratch and build one caption at a time.
Export to SRT, VTT or ASS
Pick the format you need in the export menu and download. The editor reads and writes SubRip (.srt), WebVTT (.vtt) and Advanced SubStation (.ass), so it doubles as a converter. Open one format, save another. For a straight format change without editing, the subtitle converter is quicker.
When to reach for another tool
