Your files never leave your device

SubAlign is a set of browser-based subtitle tools. Every conversion, timing shift, encoding repair, merge, split and cleanup happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. The subtitle files you open are never uploaded, transmitted, stored or seen by us, because there is no server that receives them and no database that stores them. When you close the tab, that data is gone.

We do not require an account, and we never ask you to sign up or log in to use any tool.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information that you provide directly, because there are no forms, accounts or uploads. The only data involved is limited, anonymous usage and technical information, described below:

• Anonymous analytics. We use Google Analytics in a privacy-preserving, cookieless mode to understand which tools are used and how the site performs. It does not set cookies, does not store a persistent identifier, anonymises IP addresses, and has advertising and cross-site features disabled. We cannot use it to identify you.
• Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process basic request data such as IP address and browser type to deliver the site securely and protect against abuse. This is standard for any website.
• Advertising data. If ads are shown, our advertising partner (Google) may process data as described in the next section.

Cookies and advertising

SubAlign itself does not use cookies for tracking. However, we display ads through Google AdSense, and Google, as a third-party vendor, may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads.

• Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to subalign.com and other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third party's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we present a consent message before personalised ads are shown, using a Google-certified consent management platform. You can choose whether to consent to, or reject, the use of cookies for personalised advertising, and you can change your choice at any time. Where you do not consent, Google may still serve non-personalised ads, which use a cookie only to limit how often you see an ad and to combat fraud and abuse.

Third-party services we use

• Google AdSense — advertising (Privacy Policy).
• Google Analytics — anonymous, cookieless usage measurement (Privacy Policy).
• Cloudflare — static hosting and content delivery (Privacy Policy).

Children's privacy

SubAlign is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves or as legal requirements change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
