Merging subtitles
Use merge when a movie or episode was split across multiple files (for example a CD1/CD2 release). Add the files in order; the tool concatenates them and renumbers every cue sequentially. If a later part should start after the earlier one, give it a positive offset in seconds so its timings land in the right place.
Splitting subtitles
Use split to cut one subtitle file into two, handy when a single subtitle covers a movie that you've divided into two video files. Split either at a timestamp (every cue starting before that second goes to part 1) or after a specific cue number. Both parts keep their original timings, so you may want to follow up with the offset shifter on part 2.

All joining and splitting happens in your browser. None of your files are uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I join CD1 and CD2 subtitle files into one?
Add both files in order, give the second part a positive offset in seconds so it starts after the first, then download the merged file. Every cue is renumbered sequentially.
How do I split a subtitle file into two parts?
Switch to the Split tab, choose a split point by timestamp or by cue number, and download each part separately.
Can I add a time offset to a later part when merging?
Yes. Each file in the merge list has its own offset field, so you can line up later parts with their place in the video.
